"Pure magic"

Pure magic. That is what can happen when a perfomer is inside the music to such a point that their instrument seems to become an extension of themselves. That is was happened when 23-year-old Sophie Mayuko Vetter played the rarely-heard Prelude and Nocturne op. 9 for left hand alone by that mystic among Russians, Alexander Skriabin, as the last two items in a demanding programme, so exquisitely were they played. Pianistic art of a very high order!
